Contact us

Email [email protected]. We aim to reply within two business days.

To help us find your account, write from the email address you use to sign in to Ascend, and tell us what happened and what you expected. Never send us your password.

For privacy and data requests, email [email protected].

Finding Settings

On the Today tab, tap the gear icon in the top-left corner, or tap the “Hi, your name” greeting.

Account and sign-in

  • Forgot your password. On the sign-in screen, tap Forgot your password?, enter your email and tap Send Code. Enter the code from the email and a new password, then tap Set New Password.
  • Change your password. There is no option to change it while signed in. Sign out, then use Forgot your password? on the sign-in screen.
  • Change your email address or display name. This can't be done in the app yet. Email [email protected] from your current account address and tell us what to change.
  • Edit your date of birth, sex, height or weight. Settings › Stats, then tap Edit next to Age (this changes your date of birth), Biological Sex, Weight or Height. Switch between metric and imperial with Settings › Stats › Metric Units.
  • Sign out. Settings › Sign Out, near the bottom.

Subscriptions and billing

Ascend is free to use, with optional Plus, Pro and Elite subscriptions, billed monthly or annually. Apple handles all billing through your Apple Account, and prices are shown in the App Store.

  • Cancel or change your plan. Settings › Account › Subscription › Manage Subscription, or your Apple Account's subscription settings on your iPhone. There is no cancel button inside the app itself.
  • Restore a purchase. Settings › Account › Subscription › Restore Purchases. Restore Purchases is also on the upgrade screen that opens when you tap a locked feature.
  • Request a refund. Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. If Apple refunds a subscription, your account returns to the free plan.
  • Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. Cancel it with Apple first, or you may keep being charged.

Your data and privacy

  • Export your data. Settings › Data › Export My Data, then Share Export. The file is a CSV of your workouts and meals. For a copy of anything else we hold, email [email protected].
  • Delete your account. Settings, scroll to the very bottom, then Delete Account and confirm. It is below Sign Out, not in the Account section. This permanently deletes your account and the data stored with it; the Privacy Policy lists the few things that are kept. Cancel any subscription with Apple first.
  • Stop sharing data with AI. Ascend's AI features are powered by Claude, made by Anthropic, and only send data after you allow it. To stop, go to Settings › AI Features › Stop Sharing with AI. To turn it back on, open AI Coach, Log Food by Voice, Log Workout by Voice or Photo Meal Estimate and tap Allow. In the Weekly Report, tap Review and Turn On, then Allow.
  • Apple Health. Connect or manage it at Settings › Integrations › Apple Health. To change what Ascend can read, open the Health app, tap your profile picture, then under Privacy tap Apps › Ascend. You can also go to your iPhone's Settings › Privacy & Security › Health › Ascend. Turning access off stops new data from syncing, but doesn't delete what has already synced; delete your account or email [email protected] for that.
  • Private account and search. Settings › Privacy › Handle & Privacy has Private account, Show me in search, and your handle.

Sharing and safety

  • Who sees your workouts. Followers see only the workouts you share. Accountability partners can see when each of your workouts started and how long it lasted, including ones you haven't shared, but not your exercises, sets or weights. A coach you accept sees the date, duration and notes of all your workouts and your plans, but never your sets, check-ins, meals or Apple Health data.
  • Share or unshare a workout. Workouts › History, open the workout, then Share to followers.
  • Delete a workout. Workouts › History, swipe left on the workout, then Delete.
  • Report a post. On the Feed, tap the post's ··· menu, then Report, choose a reason and tap Submit report. We review reports within 24 hours.
  • Block someone. From a post's ··· menu, from Find People, or from Follow Requests. Blocking ends any accountability partnership or coaching relationship between you. Unblock at Settings › Privacy › Handle & Privacy › Blocked Accounts.
  • Follow requests. Feed › ··· › Follow Requests.
  • Remove an accountability partner. Feed › Partners, swipe on the partner, then Remove.
  • Coaching. Find a coach at Feed › ··· › Find a Coach. Accept a coach's invite at Settings › Coaching. End coaching at Settings › Coaching › My Coach › End Coaching Relationship; blocking a coach also ends it.

Nutrition

  • Why don't I have a calorie target? A starting calorie target needs your date of birth, biological sex, height and weight; add any that are missing at Settings › Stats. Ascend doesn't show calorie targets to anyone under 18. To estimate one, go to Settings › Calorie Target › Estimate My Calorie Target.
  • Delete a meal. On the Nutrition tab, swipe the entry.
  • Delete a recipe. Nutrition › Recipes, swipe the recipe, then Delete. Recipes needs Ascend Plus or higher; if your subscription has ended, email [email protected] and we'll delete your saved recipes.

Notifications

Turn workout, streak, hydration and meal reminders on or off at Settings › Notifications › Reminders. Notifications about followers, follow requests and kudos are controlled in your iPhone's Settings › Notifications › Ascend.

Health information

Ascend is a general wellness app. It doesn't diagnose, treat or prevent any condition.

Calorie and macro targets are general wellness estimates, not medical advice. Talk to a doctor or dietitian before making significant changes to how you eat.

Weekly summaries are written by AI from your week's numbers: workouts, average daily protein, weight change from your check-ins, average sleep from Apple Health (if connected) and your goal. They can be wrong, and they are not medical advice. The same goes for the AI Coach: talk to a qualified professional before acting on anything health-related.
